Do you play video game? You should!
I was watching TED talk show last night about how game helps our brain to be creative. Virtual game is billion dollar business which not only attract teenager but also old people and small children. Tom Chatfield talks about & ways games can help our brain to be creative.
Games are all about imagination, reward, ways to get those reward , collaboration and sharing. Let say I am playing virtual game called dragon on the internet with unknown people from all over the world. I will share my ideas on how to kill the dragon collectively since our individual power is weaker than dragon. We will share our ideas who will use what weapon and how we will use different strategy to kill dragon in order to get treasure or points. People will use their imagination on different strategies ,share them and come up with really good idea that help to get our reward. There are also games developed by Fisher king that will help to simulate learning environment. Wii has their interactive game such as skate boarding, yoga, boxing that will help people to be fit without going to fitness center.
So after watching TED talk show on game my view on game( just for fun) is changed and from now on I will start playing game.

You are so right - games aren't just for fun. I don't think games are used enough in training because people think they are just for fun or a waste of time, but this shows they are worth so much more.
ReplyDeleteMore reason to allow video game playing! Games also help with some physically technical aspects as well. I have a friend who is a doctor who mentioned the surgeons who grew up playing video games are so much more accurate with the new robotic surgical tools than those that did not. So, who would you want conducting your surgery - a gamer or a non gamer? As long as they know what to do with the tools, I'll take the talented gamer!
ReplyDeleteInteresting comment from Wendy there.
ReplyDeleteThe Dragon game sounds like a great teamwork builder!
